The Room Shaker is a cost-optimized real-time DSP compatible with any line-level audio signals and primarily designed for use with home theater subwoofers. It features six cascaded biquad stages to yield up to a 12th order filter. Boosting low frequency content to add rumble to your home theater is as simple as uploading your desired PEQs or using the included Super Bass mode. The Room Shaker is NOT intended to be used with REW and does not include a microphone input. It is intended to be used with pre-determined biquad filters, which may come from BEQDesigner, the Biquad Cookbook, or simple high/low shelf, high/low pass, or peaking filters.

Upload filters
1) Visit Filter Upload Tool to get started. There, you can generate simple high/low shelf, high/low pass, and peaking filters. You can also specify custom biquad filters
2) In general, custom filters added as biquad filter coefficients may come from BEQDesigner or pre-existing BEQ curves that utilize four or less cascaded biquads. There is a fantastic guide on how to create a custom Bass EQ filter on AVSForum.
3) If you're confident in your math abilities, you can create your own filter using the BiQuad Designer or the Biquad Cookbook. All biquad filters are compatible with the Room Shaker.
4) Feel free to use the 'Save to .txt...' buttons to save your filters so you can easily upload them again in the future!
5) Once all of your filters are ready, connect your computer to the USB-C port on the Room Shaker, press 'Connect with USB...' on the Filter Upload Tool, select the appropriate COM port (which should be labeled ROOMSHAKER), and then select 'Upload with USB...'
6) Confirmation of a successful upload will show up in the dark box toward the bottom of the page.

Are there any risks involved with using the Room Shaker? The Room Shaker provides filtering to the source signal, but does not introduce any new content that wasn't already there. The only risk is overdriving your speaker(s) by amplifying the signal too much. Just double check your filters before uploading and try out new filters at low volume first!

If you're confident in your math abilities, you can create your own filter using the BiQuad Designer or the Biquad Cookbook. Alternatively, use the built-in Super Bass Mode to generate the filters necessary to give a 12 dB boost below 50Hz. You'll see this option in the Room Shaker software!
How do I flash a new firmware image onto the Room Shaker? You won't need to. But, if you want to, firmware may be flashed to the embedded STM32H743 SoC by utilizing an STLINK-V3MINIE programmer connected to the 14-pin header J3. Be careful to connect the cable with the correct polarity; the GND pin is marked on the silkscreen for connector J3.
