The Room Shaker is a cost-optimized real-time DSP for home theater subwoofers. It is designed to boost ultra-low and infrasonic frequency content (in the 5 to 40 Hz range) in any input signal. It is fully compatible with the filter format used by BEQDesigner, so the Room Shaker can be used to implement pre-existing BEQ curves. Adaptive mode allows the Room Shaker to automatically balance bass output. Don't leave performance on the table - get the most out of your subwoofers! The Room Shaker features:
• 480 MHz Cortex-M7 CPU with DSP
• 48 kHz, 24 bit ADC and DAC
• 2 independent inputs and outputs
• USB-C interface to upload BEQ or custom filters
• Adaptive mode to automatically balance bass spectrum
• Designed, assembled, and tested by hand in the USA
Digital filters are implemented as biquads. Up to four cascaded biquad filters can be utilized simultaneously.
The Room Shaker is NOT intended to be used with REW and does not include a microphone input. It is intended to be used with pre-determined biquad filters, which may come from BEQDesigner, the Biquad Cookbook, or any other source!

1) Visit the Software Download tab for instructions on how to download the application software. This software is used to upload filter parameters to the Room Shaker.
Obtain biquad filter parameters
1) In general, biquad filter parameters may come from BEQDesigner or pre-existing BEQ curves that utilize four or less cascaded biquads. There is a fantastic guide on how to create a custom Bass EQ filter on AVSForum.
2) Alternatively, if you're confident in your math abilities, you can create your own filter using the BiQuad Designer or the Biquad Cookbook. All biquad filters are compatible with the Room Shaker.

Are there any risks involved with using the Room Shaker? Yes, there are risks involved with using the Room Shaker. If attached to a low or middle tier subwoofer that struggles to play tones under 30 Hz (or even under 20 Hz), there is a very real possibility of damaging the subwoofer amplifier, driver, or both. The Room Shaker is capable of amplifying frequency content as low as 1 Hz, and if the subwoofer is not capable of playing that low, damage can occur, especially at loud listening levels.
Where do I get filter parameters to upload to the Room Shaker? In general, biquad filter parameters may come from BEQDesigner or pre-existing BEQ curves that utilize four or less cascaded biquads. There is a fantastic guide on how to create a custom Bass EQ filter on AVSForum. Alternatively, if you're confident in your math abilities, you can create your own filter using the BiQuad Designer or the Biquad Cookbook. All biquad filters are compatible with the Room Shaker.
How do I flash a new firmware image onto the Room Shaker? You won't need to. But, if you want to, firmware may be flashed to the embedded STM32H743 SoC by utilizing an STLINK-V3MINIE programmer connected to the 14-pin header J3. Be careful to connect the cable with the correct polarity; the GND pin is marked on the silkscreen for connector J3.
